Backbenchers have challenged ministers over reforms introduced after the Ranson case
The Council of Ministers says most recommendations from a review into the Ranson case have now been implemented.
Eighteen of the 24 made by Richard Wright KC have been completed, with work continuing on the remaining six.
The review followed an employment tribunal which saw former medical director Dr Rosalind Ranson awarded a record £3.2 million for unfair dismissal linked to whistleblowing.
