Jury sworn-in for death by dangerous driving case

37-year-old denies charge

A 37-year-old man has gone on trial at Douglas Courthouse accused of causing death by dangerous driving.

Jackson Joseph Paul denies the charge against him.

Seven jurors were sworn-in today (2 September) by Deemster Sandeep Kainth.

The case is expected to last for seven days.

Twenty-nine-year-old Jordan Thomas died on 4 March 2024 after being involved in a collision on Harbour Road in Onchan on 25 February 2024.

At Douglas Courthouse, on 10 September 2026, Mr Paul was found not guilty of the offence of causing death by dangerous driving.
