Former Island player and Freya Christie lose out in first round
Billy Harris fell to defeat in the first round Mixed Doubles at Wimbledon 2026 last weekend.
Teaming up with fellow British competitor, Freya Christie, the pairing lost out in three sets to sixth seeds, Neal Skupski and Desirae Krawczyk (7-6, 6-7, 6-4) on Court 16 on Saturday, 4 July.
Meanwhile, after progerssing, Skupski and Krawczyk reached the quarter-finals stage before a straight-sets loss to the duo of Mate Pavic and Fanny Stollar.
For 31-year-old Harris - formerly of Albany and Castletown tennis clubs on the Isle of Man - it follows a first round defeaty in the Gentlemen's Singles last week to 19th seed, Karen Khachanov in four sets.
This has also been the third consecutive year Harris has featured in the main draw of the 'Grand Slam' event having also been involved in 2024 and 2025.
