Mixture of competitve and social sides to battle it out
It may be off-season, but hockey will continue to be played throughout the next four weeks ahead of the new domestic season.
The Summer Sixes tournament begins in Douglas this evening with a mix of competitive and social sides taking to the field.
It's a six-a-side format with matches lasting 16 minutes one-way.
Eight teams make up the Social League - aimed at encouraging new participants in the sport, or simply to attract those who had previously given up the game.
There are a further nine teams battling it out for the competitive Summer Sixes title - including sides from Castletown, Harlequins, Saracens, Vikings and Ramsey.
Matches will be played between 6.30pm and 9.30pm every Wednesday before finals night on 5 July.
