Defending champions sweep past Ramsey at Port-e-Chee
Report by Dave Christian:
Douglas made it three from three in the Manx Cup qualifiers to book their place in the 3 May final with a 50-5 defeat of Ramsey at Port-e-Chee on last Thursday night (17 April).
First half tries from Nathan Robson, Conor Stephens, Craig McGee, Liam Kirkpatrick and Blake Snell, plus four Robson conversions gave the favourites a commanding 33-0 half time lead.
Robson bagged his second of the game just after half time, but the scoring rate slowed as Ramsey dug deep and picked one off at the other end via Luke Ward.
Late scores from Kyle Martin and Conor Stephens dashed any hopes of a comeback.
Ramsey meet Vagabonds tomorrow (22 April) knowing that a win will set them up for a rematch with Douglas in the final.
