The Isle of Man men’s hockey team made a winning start to the counties tournament in Portsmouth.
Strikes from Andrew Whiting (two) and Andy Vernon-Browne, plus debut goals from Sam Moffatt and James Harrison, sealed a 5-1 success over the Royal Navy.
They were then narrowly beaten 2-1 by Herefordshire in their second match with Alex Bell on target for the Island.
The Manx team face Surrey and Leicestershire on Sunday.
