Rodd named on the bench for Premiership Rugby Cup tie
A young Manx rugby player may get his first taste of top level English rugby at the weekend.
Bevan Rodd has been named on the bench for Sale Sharks' home match against defending champions Northampton Saints in the Premiership Rugby Cup on Saturday.
The competition was introduced last season as a replacement for the Anglo-Welsh Cup, following the withdrawal of the Welsh regions.
The 19-year-old prop has been playing for Sale and England's age group teams for the last couple of years, and was earlier this year named the Under-21 Sportsman of the Year at the Isle of Man Sports Awards.
