Lee banned for 12 years

Snooker player Stephen Lee has been banned for 12 years after being found guilty of seven match-fixing charges.

He has also been told to pay £40,000 in costs.

The matches under investigation were played in 2008 and 2009.

In the initial report from an independent tribunal, Chairman Adam Lewis QC named Lee's then manager Neal Clague and four other Manx businessmen for suspicious betting on the games in question.

Lee will be nearly 50 when the ban comes to an end, and he has told the tribunal he plans to appeal.
