Hamper race cancelled

Lack of marshals for festive cycle

Cycling's traditional festive gathering, the Bikestyle Hamper Road Race, has been cancelled.

The Jurby event has been called off because of a lack of marshals.

It usually attracts the best field of any race on the Island with some of the many professional riders back at home for the Christmas holiday.

Winners in recent years include Mark Cavendish and Peter Kennaugh.
