Rider was due to race for Team ILR in 2026

Motorcycle racer, Franco Bourne says he intends to return to the Island and make his TT debut after pulling out of this year's event.

The rider had been due to race for Team ILR in the Superstock and Sportbike races in 2026 but withdrew just a few days before the racing fortnight started.

He says 'as a team', they decided 'now wasn't the right time for me to fully commit to the TT' but adds 'I will be back', and is also thanking Team ILR and his followers for their support and understanding.

Going into 2026, Bourne had been the first competitor to earn a place at the Isle of Man TT Races through the new 'Pilot Lap' initiative

Separately, he is also part of the team due to head to the Southern 100 Road Races from 6-9 July on the Billown Course.

Leading into this year, Bourne already has extensive experience on short circuits in recent years including in the British Talent Cup, Pirelli National Junior Superstock Championship and British Superbike Championship (BSB).
