Gymnasium AFC & Douglas Athletic FC merged during the summer
An Island football club is giving the Isle of Man community an opportunity to help shape the future direction of the club.
During the summer, Gymnasium AFC and Douglas Athletic FC confirmed they would be merging ahead of the 2026/27 season which got underway at the end of August.
Now, both are inviting people to help design a new club crest, home kit and away kit to 'play a part in creating the identity of the club for generations to come.'
For the crest, they would like to see designs 'that celebrate the heritage of both clubs while reflecting our vision of building a thriving, inclusive community football club for the future.'
Meanwhile, for the kits, the clubs would like to see something that incorporates the traditional pink and light blue colours of both sides, however, officials add they are 'open to all creative ideas and interpretations.'
A shortlist of entries will be compiled which will then be presented to the club's newly-formed committee who will select the winners with prizes to be awarded for successful designs.
Entries can be sent via email to gafcchairman@gmail.com with the deadline for submissions on Wednesday, 30 September, 2026.
Following the merger, senior teams are currently competing under the name of Gymnasium AFC across Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2 and Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Combination Two.
Elsewhere, the junior sides are playing under the banner of Douglas Athletic FC.
