Peel duo among winners following 2025/26 season
Tomas Brown and Sarah Wignall scooped the coveted player of the year awards during the 2025/26 Isle of Man FA Awards last night (24 June).
The Peel AFC duo were among the winners as 17 accolades were handed out in total at Douglas Golf Club on Wednesday evening.
Brown secured both the Men's Player of the Year and Golden Boot prizes for the previous campaign having also taken both trophies during the 2024/25 season.
Meanwhile, Wignall claim the Women's Player of the Year honour after a stellar season with the western side as they went on to secure both a league and cup double in the latest campaign.
Elsewhere, Jordan Edge of Colby AFC was crowned Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2's Player of the Year whilst Castletown MFC's Alex Crawley won the Silver Boot for being top scorer in that division.
Among the other winners on the night was Pippa Wallis whose performances for Peel AFC saw her named Women's Under-21 Player of the Year, whilst it was a breakthrough season for Pulrose United AFC youngster, James Lowther who was recognised with the Men's Under-18 Player of the Year award.
The evening also celebrated the work of others off the pitch - among them, Alistair Wood took home the Grassroots Bobby Moore Award which recognised his service of more than six decades to Pulrose United AFC.
