Reigning solo champion confirms update in statement

Davey Todd has confirmed he won't take part in next week's Southern 100 Road Races.

In a short update on social media, the rider says he's 'gutted' he won't be lining up on the Billown Course, adding whilst he's been 'working hard' to be back racing, he's 'just not quite there yet.'

The 8TEN Racing competitor is the reigning solo champion at the Southern 100 Road Races, having won all of the last three Solo Championship races in 2022, 2024 and 2025.

Over the last few months, Todd has been continuing his recovery from injuries sustained at the Daytona 200 in the USA in March.

Those injuries meant he also missed both the North West 200 in Northern Ireland last month as well as the 2026 Isle of Man TT Races across late May and early June.

Separately, 8TEN Racing will be represented on the Billown Course this year as Todd's 8TEN Racing co-owner and teammate, Peter Hickman will make his Southern 100 debut.

The 2026 Southern 100 Road Races will be held from Monday, 6 July to Thursday, 9 July - you can find a full schedule HERE.
