Manx rider a non-finisher during challenging contest in Zurich
Manx elite cyclist Lizzie Holden was a non-finisher as she and Great Britain contested the 2024 UCI Road and Para-Cycling Road World Championships in Switzerland at the weekend.
The Island competitor joined Elinor Barker, Anna Henderson, Josie Nelson, Claire Steels and Alice Towers in the GB squad which took on the elite women's road race on Saturday (28 September).
Britain's highest finisher at the finish in Zurich was Henderson in 21st place who was in contention until the final climb of the course before dropping back.
Elsewhere, Towers came home 32nd overall and finished fifth in the Under-23 standings whilst Barker crossed the line in 61st - Steels and Nelson joined Holden as DNFs.
The race was won by current women's world number one Lotte Kopecky of Belgium whilst the USA's Chloe Dygert finished second and women's world number three Elisa Longo Borghini of Italy completed the podium in third.
