Talented Manx rider becomes team's youngest member for 2025
Talented Manx cyclist Ruby Oakes has been signed by UCI women's continental team DAS-Hutchinson-Brother-UK.
Stepping into the squad's Under-23 side Oakes becomes the youngest member of the team for the 2025 season.
The Island rider says having raced against her new employers over the last two years 'I can’t wait to learn from the older and more established riders who can support my development and I hope to also contribute to successes.'
For the 2024 campaign Oakes was part of Shibden Apex RT with whom she finished seventh in the youth points at the Rás na mBan in Ireland in September.
Among her other notable performances, she finished 15th in the junior women's road race at this year's British National Championships in June and claimed sixth spot at the Gent-Wevelgem Juniors race in Belgium in April.
In 2023 Oakes was one of two cyclists to represent the Isle of Man at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad & Tobago where she claimed bronze medals in both the women's time trial and women's road race.
