Former sports minister says it's 'an honour' for the Island
The NSC cycleway will be renamed after Mark Cavendish.
In a post on social media, the former minister responsible for sport Julie Edge said the Manx Missile agreed to have the cycleway renamed in his honour before she left the Department of Education, Sport and Culture.
She added that having the Sir Mark Cavendish Raceway on Island is 'an honour', and will be a destination for all to visit.
The department confirmed to Manx Radio that more details are expected to be released later this year.
