Tour de France star Mark Cavendish is in training with the British squad for the world championships in Switzerland next month.
The two-day training camp in Mendrisio is preparation for Cavendish amidst concern the course will be too hilly for him.
Great Britain endurance coach Rod Ellingworth says the ultimate aim for Cavendish is to compete in the London 2012 Olympic road-race.
Britain has now moved to eighth, their highest ever position, in the international rankings.
Also included in the G.B. squad is fellow Manx rider Jonny Bellis who is in his first year in the professional ranks with Saxo Bank.
