Batty goal gives Isle of Man win over Widnes

Sid Batty got the only goal of the game as the Isle of Man ran 1-0 winners against Widnes.

A cagey first half finished with neither side able to break the deadlock.

On as a substitue, Batty had the desired impact as he was on hand to seize on a loose ball to fire the Manx side into the lead.

The Isle of Man defence held firm to keep their travelling opponents at bay to seal victory in their first game since finishing third in the Inter Games Football Tournament in Ynys Mon.
