World AIDS Day tomorrow

Over 6,500 people are infected with HIV every day, 33.2 million people are currently living with the virus, and in 2007 more than 2 million people have died from AIDS related illness

Those stark statistics show the enormous scale of the AIDS problem and, on Talking Heads today, Dan Davies spoke to a woman in the Isle of Man who was diagnosed HIV positive in 2001.

Anne, who has lived on the Island since the early 1990s, knew of AIDS but never believed she was at risk (audio file attached):
