Manx Care seeking to recruit additional staff
Manx Care says its dental service will open at Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital from Monday (9 November).
The practice previously operated out of the hospital before it was relocated due to issues within the wider building.
A salaried dentist will provide appointments from the Ramsey unit, giving patients in the north greater access to NHS dental treatment.
Manx Care said it is also actively seeking to recruit a further dentist to increase capacity and support more patients requiring care.
A spokesperson said: "The opening of the dental unit in Ramsey will provide additional NHS dental capacity for the North and help us support people who are currently waiting to access dental care."
Initially, appointments from the new service will be available for:
- patients from the north who are currently on the NHS dental waiting list
- unregistered patients requiring emergency dental treatment; and
- Smile Dental patients requiring urgent or emergency care until the practice resumes routine services.
