The construction of the new St Ninian's Lower School at Bemahague in Onchan has moved a step closer, after Tynwald approved expenditure of up to £433,000 on the first stage of the project.
The new school would cost in the region of £33 million and would have room for 800 pupils.
Education Minister Anne Craine (pictured) hopes to bring the main scheme to Tynwald before the 2009 summer recess.
She says the current phase involves enabling works:
Person suffers 'significant injuries' in 'serious assault' near Peel
Business case for horse trams to be put before Tynwald in July
Plans to turn 'underused space' in central Douglas into wellness retreat
Employment grievance 'upheld' against board of Peel Commissioners
