
The chief minister has confirmed a delegation from the United States has been on the Island, to check that companies based here have not been involved in busting sanctions against Iran.
Tony Brown told Tynwald three US officials, one from the country's embassy in London, held meetings with the Island's Customs and Excise department last October.
Mr Brown said the visitors were charged with ensuring trade sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines had not been breached by Manx-registered ships.
He said the authorities here were able to show the US officials the Island has nothing to hide:
