Public need confidence in system
It's been agreed that the Board looking after the new Safeguarding Bill and its provisions should have protection from inquiries which might come in under the Freedom of Information banner.
North Douglas MHK David Ashford moved the amendment to the Bill which is currently being steered through the House of Keys by Policy and Reform Minister, Chris Thomas.
Mr Ashford says it's important that people feel confident they can speak freely in matters of safeguarding.
