Data between 2019 and present show a 44% increase
A Freedom of Information Request by Manx Radio looking at online harassment has shown the number of reported incidents has risen.
Given today marks so-called 'Safer Internet Day', how can you look at increasing your online security and what would you do if you became the target of online harassment?
Data retrieved from the Isle of Man Constabulary shows a 44% increase in the number of threats and harassment reports via social media since 2019.
Of all reported incidents, police intervened 79 times in 2019 and 54 times in 2021. A 32% decrease.
So what constitutes for a case that police deem worthy of following up and ultimately taking action against?
