Get out and use your vote in the local elections a week on Thursday!
That rallying call from the leader of Douglas Corporation David Christian.
He says getting things right locally - like street lighting and litter - can improve the quality of life dramatically - and that's the job of your local authority.
But only six of the island's 24 authorities are having elections - with few people prepared to come forward as candidates, in most areas there's no contest.
Speaking on last night's Agenda Mr Christian said the change to a four yearly election cycle has done little to raise interest among the electorate:
Sailings cancelled due to predicted gales
Have your say on the future of the Island's plantations
Warning for 'disorderly' parents attending schools
Yellow weather warning for gale force winds
