Motorists are advised to consider how essential your journey is and exercise 'extreme care' if you have to drive.
The warning comes from the constabulary after the Island's roads sustained a heavy hail shower, causing treacherous conditions.
On Facebook, the police say any treated roads will take time for the rock salt to take effect and untreated roads will take longer to thaw.
It's as a yellow weather warning is in place for ice and wintry conditions until midday tomorrow (5 January).
