Another 10 groups to apply
Radio Caroline may no longer be exclusive to an AM frequency on the Isle of Man.
The legendary pirate has applied for a full-time medium-wave licence to serve Suffolk.
If successful, it will be the first time Radio Caroline has owned and operated a full-time community AM service legally in the UK.
Another ten groups around the UK have applied to Ofcom to run a station using AM - including; Indus Radio, Ark FM in Glasgow and AM-Rock.
The applications come as part of Ofcom's Region 11 process inviting groups to register for a community radio licence anywhere in the UK outside London, but on AM only.
