Baptist disappointed with lack of investment in town's play areas
A Peel commissioner says the parks in the town are in a ‘worse state’ now than when she was first elected.
Katryna Baptist has told Manx Radio she’s disappointed about the lack of investment in - and ‘managed decline’ of - the town's play areas.
She claims a project to carry out refurbishment over the winter had been cancelled.
Her comments come after a Facebook post showing damaged equipment.
Writing on social media she said: "The parks were supposed to be refurbished over the winter, with a headcount (person) allocated for this.
"However the finance committee decided against it for some reason and the essential repairs weren’t completed."
She told Manx Radio the local authority should be investing in parks:

Manx Radio has invited Peel Town Commissioners to respond.
Devon Watson has announced his intention to seek election in Douglas Central at this year’s General Election on 24 September.
