A senior politician is reassuring the Island's business community his departure will not affect the growth of the economy.
For the first time in 12 and a half years, John Shimmin is no longer a member of the Manx government.
He stood down after it emerged he acted beyond his powers in a deal to bail out the Sefton Group.
However, Mr Shimmin says the department structure will continue to work with the private sector to drive the Island forward:
