Now not time for tax revision - Bell

The Chief Minister has rejected calls for a shake-up of the Island's taxation regime.

Later this month, the government is expected to announce it has re balanced its revenue budget for the first time since the VAT bombshell in 2009.

However, the squeeze on public spending, cutbacks across the board and introduction of a raft of new charges, have prompted critics to call for a landmark revision of taxation policy.

Allan Bell says he'll resist any attempt to unravel current strategy - and has challenged those calling for change to 'wake up and realise what is at stake'.
