New gov't external relations director could be paid £104K 

Government seeking person to protect Island's reputation

Government is searching for an individual to help protect the Isle of Man’s reputation and position as it faces ‘considerable pressures’ and ‘potentially challenging times ahead’.

It’s trying to recruit a new executive director of external relations who would have responsibility for leading the Island’s international affairs.

The individual will replace former post-holder Peter Boxer who held the role between April 2019 and December last year.

Working within the Cabinet Office the successful candidate will be paid between £94,960 and £104,289 per year with a relocation package available of up to £10,000.

They’ll be expected to influence, engage and negotiate with leaders across the world and identify ways to ensure the Island’s interests are ‘properly promoted and defended’ in the UK, EU and across the globe.
