Chair of Castletown Commissioners says removal of ATM is a 'blow' to the south

Tony Brown says he is 'disappointed and concerned' about the decision

The Chair of Castletown Commissioners says losing the Barclay's ATM is 'another blow' to the south of the Island. 

Tony Brown says he is 'concerned and 'disappointed' at the decision made by the bank to remove the town hall's cash point in December. 

Mr Brown added: "The point that Barclays states in its statement; “… we are still available at our branch in Douglas, where you can access cash services and ATMs are locate …” indicates a misunderstanding about our Islands community. Unfortunately, this decision is out of the hands of the Barclays management located on the Island, as it is a decision made by a UK company.” 

There are two ATM's available in the town - one inside Tesco Express on Arbory Street along with an Isle of Man Bank provision in the foyer of Ronaldsway Airport.
