Island Jews mark Rosh Hashanah

Christian Israeli meets Manx audience

The Island's Jewish community marked the end of an important custom yesterday evening (Fri).

Rosh Hashanah - the Jewish New Year - is celebrated by followers of the faith across the globe.

It's estimated there are around 200 Jews living on the Isle of Man.

A week of local commemorations included a talk from Christian charity activist and Israeli citizen Christine Sakakibara at the Onchan Elim Church.

She says visiting here was an opportunity to state her case about the country:
