Government joins Sunflower Hidden Disabilities scheme

Sunflower lanyards are now available at various locations

The Isle of Man Government has signed up to the Sunflower Hidden Disabilities scheme.

The global initiative provides a symbol for non-visible disabilities, also known as hidden disabilities or invisible disabilities.

It covers conditions including Autism, and is a simple, quiet way for people to indicate they may need support, understanding, or just a little more time.

The Department of Health and Social Care has confirmed that staff training is currently being planned.

Sunflower lanyards are now available at various locations, including Douglas Library, Wellbeing Partnerships in Peel and Port Erin, in the North at drop-in sessions in Ramsey Town Hall (Monday AM), Ramsey Group Practice (Wednesday AM) and Jurby Health Centre (Thursday).
