Four 'communities' at Summerhill View
A new care home in Douglas has received the official go-ahead.
Planning permission has been approved for the 60-bed facility on the home of the former Glenside site.
Since its closure five years ago, the Department of Health and Social Care has been debating its replacement.
A previous planning application was refused earlier this year.
'Summerhill View', as it will be known, promises a high standard of living for elderly residents - with four separate 'village' communities and an ensuite in every room.
One of the communities will be equipped especially for dementia sufferers.
