Lamara Craine hopes newly elected people won't be 'ground down' by hate online
A former Ramsey Commissioner says it's important to raise awareness and 'stand up' to people who make misogynistic and racist comments online.
Lamara Craine, who is also leader of the Isle of Man Green Party, was subject to hateful comments on social media during her term as a local authority member.
A social media post by the party earlier this month says political discourse shouldn't include insults about someone’s appearance or use 'dehumanizing misogynistic language'.
Ms Craine believes recently elected politicians should be able to represent their areas without being 'personally harassed'.
