MHK responds to referendum call
Creating an all-Island constituency for House of Keys elections could make politics 'a rich man's game'.
That's the warning from Douglas North MHK David Ashford, after a call for a referendum on the issue.
Last week, Douglas South MHK Kate Beecroft said the Island should follow Guernsey, which backed the idea for general elections.
But Mr Ashford says canvassing the whole Island could be difficult for candidates, and prohibitively costly.
