Prosecution argues sentence 'unduly lenient'
An appeal will be heard today (Tuesday) against the sentence imposed on a Sulby woman who killed a cyclist.
The Attorney General's Chambers has lodged the appeal in the case of 63-year-old Linda Thompson.
In July she received an 18-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, after admitting causing death by careless driving.
Physiotherapist Kathryn Burge was killed while out cycling in Kirk Michael in August last year.
The Attorney General's Chambers believes the sentence imposed on Thompson was 'unduly lenient' and the appeal will be heard before Judge of Appeal Geoffrey Tattersall, Deemster Doyle and Deemster Sir Michael Birt QC.
