MGP: Vehicle reportedly entered course into path of Roads Open car

Police issue warning after incident on Friday evening

Police are once again reiterating the need to stay off the Manx Grand Prix course at any time during road closures and not to assume the road has reopened.

It follows reports of a vehicle entering the course into the path of the Roads Open car last night after the session was called off due to rain.

Officers say a local driver is assisting with enquiries.

Unless the roads open car has passed the location, the road remains closed and entering it is an offence.

The Isle of Man Constabulary says it's especially important to check before leaving driveways or small side roads that exit directly onto the course where there may not be physical barriers.

They say taking an extra 30 seconds to observe for 'normal' traffic flow, checking social media feeds, listening to the radio or checking with marshals nearby could be the difference between a trip to the shops or a trip to custody.
