2026 Southern 100 Road Races schedule confirmed

Extra qualifying and classic sidecars among changes this year

The schedule has been confirmed for the 2026 Southern 100 Road Races early next month.

The meeting will be held on the Billown Course from Monday, 6 July to Thursday, 9 July and will feature several changes from the format of previous years.

Among the alterations, there will be an additional race & qualifying slot during the morning of Wednesday, 8 July as well as an evening session on the same day.

The other major shift sees classic sidecars taking part in the meeting as a 'contingency measure' for 2026 after modern three-wheeled F2 machinery was excluded on safety grounds.

Days one and two (Monday, 6 July and Tuesday, 7 July) will be dedicated to evening qualifying sessions for all classes - on each day roads around the course are due to shut at 6pm and reopen no later than 9.40pm.

A double-header is then planned for Wednesday 8 July - firstly, roads around the course will close at 9.45am before the opening race of the event - the seven-lap Peel Holdings Senior Race - followed by a further classic sidecar qualifying session.

Roads will then reopen no later than 11.45am before closing again in the evening at 6pm for five further races and reopen for the final time that day no later than 9.40pm.

The final day of the meeting on Thursday, 9 July will once again be a double-header with roads closing in the morning between 9.30am and no later than 12.45pm for another five races.

The course will briefly reopen before shutting once more at 1.30pm for the final four races, which includes the centre-piece nine-lap Ellan Vannin Fuels Solo Championship race.

Highways around the course will then open up for the final time no later than 4.45pm.

All timings remain subject to change depending on prevailing conditions and circumstances.
