Northern Irishman describes it as 'cherry on top' to start race week
Glenn Irwin has set a new TT newcomer record after a strong display in today's RST Superbike race (4 June).
The Northern Irishman posted a 129.8mph fastest lap, the quickest lap of any debutant on the Manx circuit.
In the process, he also took a new record for total time in a superbike race as a newcomer.
Irwin says he wasn't aware of or targeting the record but described it as the 'cherry on top' to start race week:
