Valkyrs A are celebrating after being crowned the inaugural Mixed Premier Division champions.
That’s after Falcons turned on the style to stop Bacchas A from retaining the title.
A Bacchas victory would have seen them crowned top dogs once again but Falcons’ last-day win sparked celebrations for Valkyrs and meant Falcons completed a fine season of their own by pipping Bacchas for the runners-up spot.
A closely contested title race was in Bacchas’ favour at the break as they led 2-1, thanks to goals from Louise Corkill and Andy Bridson.
However, a Neil Crowe double and goals from Connor Byrne, Danni Coombes and Kim Carney sealed a super win for Falcons – cheered on by Valkyrs’ players and officials – as the closest title race for years went west.
