Island side narrowly beaten by Guildford in Nottingham
The Isle of Man Under-14 Boys hockey squad narrowly missed out on silverware after a narrow defeat in their England Hockey Championships final at the weekend.
The Island side suffered a slim 2-1 loss to Guildford B in the EH U14 Boys Tier 2 KO Championship final in Nottingham on Sunday (12 April).
Things had started well for the Manx squad who took a 1-0 lead into the half-time break.
However, their opponents struck twice in the second period at Nottingham Hockey Centre to claim the honours.
The Isle of Man Under-14 Boys side is the third Isle of Man team to reach an EH Championship final in the last three years.
Prior to that, the IoM Under-16 Boys won the EH Under-16 Boys Tier 2 Plate in April 2023 whilst the Isle of Man Senior Ladies B side were runners-up in the EH Women's Tier 3 Plate in May last year.
