Vagabonds produced a fine performance to end their relegation worries with a 28-22 win at Sale on Saturday in EuroManx South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One.
Tries from Ross Pulman, Adam Mathieson and Simon Heggs, along with another fine showing from Johnny Beckley – who hit two conversions, two drop-goals and a penalty – secured the victory.
They had to do it the hard way, losing two players to injury early on - Ben Wood picking up a shoulder injury in the warm-up.
But they were able to concentrate on matters on the pitch and will go into next week's Manx Cup final with improved confidence.
