It's the Manx side's heaviest ever league defeat

FC Isle of Man have suffered their heaviest ever league defeat following a 7-0 hammering at Barnoldswick Town in the NWCFL Premier Division this afternoon (31 October).

The in-form hosts made a quick start when Danylo Dmytriiev slotted home after just four minutes at the Silentnight Stadium.

A threat throughout the first half, Dmytriiev then netted again on the stroke of half-time to double 'Barlick's' advantage.

After the break, Barnoldswick Town started the second period quicker than the first when Hamid Addai found the target two minutes after the restart and made it a brace for himself seven minutes later.

The home side weren't finished there as Alex Bolton then got in on the act, tucking home from a corner on 63 minutes.

Bolton then turned from finisher to provider, whipping in a free-kick on 70 minutes which was met by Kuda Chingwaro who hammered a strike in off of the crossbar.

With four minutes of normal time remaining, the rout was complete when substitute, Sam Pickles' lob from around 25 yards sailed into the back of the FC Isle of Man net.

Despite the hefty loss, FC Isle of Man Manager, Lee Dixon insists the margin of defeat doesn't reflect the effort put in by his players and that they were ultimately punished for missing multiple big chances of their own:

FC Isle of Man's next match will be at home against Longridge Town in the NWCFL Premier Division on Saturday, 7 November, kicking-off at The Bowl in Douglas at 6pm.
