Vagabonds off the mark in 2008

Vagabonds finally broke their 2008 duck with a narrow 21-17 home win over Bowdon in EuroManx South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One.

Tries from Ross Pullman and Rob Martin, plus a penalty and a conversion from skipper Jonny Beckley, gave Vagas a 15-14 lead at half time.

Two more penalties from the ultra reliable Beckley were enough to give Vagas their first win of 2008 and push them up the table ahead of Bowden and potentially one or two others, depending on how other results go.
