Trials for Island's first all-male netball team this weekend

Netball Devlopment Officer calls on all men to get involved

Since its invention back in 1891, when the game included tea breaks and was played in gloves so as to not get dirty hands, netball has predominantly been regarded as a female sport; and still is today.

A trait the Island Netball Devlopment Officer wants to change.

Claire Battye is holding trials this weekend to develop the Island's first all-male netball team, with sights on setting up a social league and a national side.

She, along with netballer Michael Josem, spoke to Rhian Evans:

The trials are open to all and take place this Sunday (16) at Bemahague Lower School from 9:30am-11:30am.
