Manxman defeats Hugo Gaston in Roehampton
Manx tennis player, Billy Harris, has progressed once more in the Wimbledon qualifiers after a three-set victory over Hugo Gaston in Roehampton this afternoon (28 June).
After a hard-fought victory over three sets against Switzerland's Alexander Ritschard on Monday (26 June), Harris came up against Frenchman Gaston who's currently ranked 170th in the world.
It was a tough start for former Albany Tennis Club member, Harris, who suffered a 6-2 loss in the opening set.
However, he rallied back in a lengthy second set to eventually take it 7-6 after winning a tense tie break 7-5.
The third and final set was also a close contest between the pair but Harris took his chance to serve for the match at 5-4 to take the set 6-4 and move on to the next stage.
