T.T. Co-ordinating Committee meets today

With just 43 days to go until the first practice session around the Mountain Course, the T.T. Co-ordinating Committee is meeting today to discuss the fall-out from the sweeping criticism made by Coroner Michael Moyle at the 26th milestone inquest.

Mr Moyle highlighted "wholesale failures" by race management and stated "the positions of some of the key people involved were now untenable, and that while he had no power to ban or exclude them, they should have no significant participation in future motorcycling events in the Isle of Man".

Cathy Pullen resigned as Sector Marshal in response to the comments of the Coroner, and yesterday Roger Hurst quit as Chief Marshal saying he was left with "no alternative".

Officials heavily criticised in the report include the Department of Transport's Director of Highways Bruce Hannay, who holds a position on the Co-ordinating Committee.

Other organisations represented at today's gathering are the Departments of Tourism and Home Affairs, A.C.U. Events Limited and the Isle of Man T.T. Marshals Association.

Meanwhile, tomorrow night's Marshals race night at the Masonic Hall in Douglas has been cancelled due to a lack of interest.
