The most recently elected member of the House of Keys will be seeking to regain his seat in the general election in September.
Chris Robertshaw has represented the constituency of East Douglas since May last year, when he won the by-election called after the elevation of Phil Braidwood to the Legislative Council.
In a media release confirming his candidacy, Mr Robertshaw says he has chosen to stay out of government for the past year, preferring to spend the time 'getting up to speed', and scrutinising the work of each of the departments.
He also sat on four select committees during the year, chairing two of them.
Mr Robertshaw won the East Douglas by-election with 388 votes, in a turnout of 38 per cent.
